Robin Bennett is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, author, speaker, and expert on dogs. She founded one of the largest dog training companies in Virginia and has been using her expertise in “reading dogs” to teach families how to train their pets as well as helping others in the pet care industry keep dogs safe for over 20 years. Robin’s first book, All About Dog Daycare is the number one reference on opening a dog daycare. She is also Co-author of Off-Leash Dog Play… A Complete Guide to Safety and Fun, and an extensive staff training program called, Knowing Dogs, which are the leading staff training resources for dog daycare and boarding facilities. Robin is currently co-founder of The Dog Gurus, the nation’s premier resource for dog care professionals. Who Are The Dog Gurus?

Susan Briggs is a Certified Professional Animal Care Operator, author, speaker, and pet business expert. As co-founder of The Dog Gurus she brings over 18 years of experience in the pet industry with 12 years as co-owner and operator of a successful dog daycare, lodging, grooming and training business in Houston, Texas. In addition to being a co-author with Robin in publishing Off-Leash Dog Play and Knowing Dogs, Susan used her educational background in accounting and published Counting Noses: Accounting and Financial Management Guidelines for the Pet Services Industry. Susan enjoys making it easy for owners to understand the numbers side of their business so they can focus on care quality. In 2015 Susan co-founded the Professional Animal Care Certification Council whose mission is to provide independent testing and certification for pet care professionals. The program embraces Susan’s passion for providing quality care for animals.

Charlotte Biggs is co-founder of the Professional Animal Care Certification Council (PACCC), the pet care services industry’s only independent certifying body. She also served as COO for four years for the International Boarding & Pet Services Association (IBPSA). Charlotte’s leadership in the pet care services industry, combined with her real-world expertise as the original owner and operator of Stay N Play Pet Ranch, Inc., which she and her partner founded in 1998 and grew to one of the most successful, full service, all natural and holistic pet care facilities in the country before successfully selling it in 2013, makes her a sought-after industry speaker and consultant. Charlotte is the current president and a ten-year member of the board of directors for PAWS Shelter and Humane Society which serves the Central Texas community.

Beth Bowers is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Certified Professional Pet Sitter – Certified Dog Walker – and a Certified Fear Free Veterinary Professional She owns and operates Power To The PawZ Pet Services & Education and while she provides most of the Dog Training Education to pets and pet parents, her team operates the Pet Sitting, Dog Walking and Shuttle services around Dallas! Beth also owns Texas Pet CPR & First Aid Education where she empowers pet parents and pet care professionals so that they know how to respond in the case of an emergency with their personal pets or pets in their care! Since she is also a Master Instructor – she certifies new Instructors as they join the amazing Pet Tech team to train even more people around the world! Beth lives to improve the lives of all animals through education.

Kari Campbell, a Certified Professional Animal Care Operator, has over twenty years’ experience in the pet care industry. She is a founding member of the Normandy Project, and the Alaska League for Animal Welfare Standards, a past board member on the Anchorage Animal Care & Control Center Advisory Board and has volunteered with Friends of Pets as past president and board member. Her volunteer experience led her in 2005 to open Dog Tired Doggie Daycare in Anchorage, Alaska. Her passion is to provide the highest level of care for her clients through education, compassion, and communication. Dog Tired is dedicated to educating their staff and clients and have been long time members of the Dog Gurus, IBPSA, WIPIN, WPA, APDT, PCSA, and ABKA. Dog Tired is known for their innovated parent teacher organization and the events they host both for their clients and their community. She currently serves on the Professional Animal Care Certification Council Board of Directors.

Candace D'Agnolo has been in the pet industry since 2004 doing retail, wholesale, doggy daycare, grooming, training, dog walking and has successfully translated her passion for pets by building businesses from the ground up into multiple million-dollar revenue streams (including a retail store sold to Marcus Lemonis and Bentley’s Pet Stuff and a recent sale to Destination Pet).  Candace is now dedicating her life to working with business owners in the pet industry through Pet Boss Nation. She's built a community of thousands of pet professionals from all over the world and is a leader in pet business mentorship with a large focus on brick and mortar retailers.

With a degree in management and employee relations, Lori began her professional career in sales. She owned two successful small businesses and also completed multiple university led courses in professional coaching, project management, and leadership development. In 2008 Lori began working with a pet industry consultant providing coaching for pet care business owners and veterinarians, as well as sales training for staff members. She later accepted a position as the Director of Sales in the travel industry where she managed a large call center and resurrected a failed custom group sales department. In just seven months, her efforts with custom group sales alone led to an influx of over two million dollars in actual and future revenue. Lori attributes her success to strategic hiring, sales and customer service training, effective leadership and the implementation of a clearly defined selling process.

Fanna Easter has been instructing dog training group classes and in home behavior consults for over 29 years. She has a special focus on separation anxiety and is a Certified Separation Anxiety Dog Trainer. Additionally, Fanna enjoys working with dog reactivity (fearful and anxious dogs), resource guarding and easily excited dogs. Because education is vital, Fanna makes it her personal mission to continue learning. She has earned multiple national and international certifications in animal behavior and dog training. She has written dog training class curricula and dog trainer courses for large pet box chains and nationally recognized dog training schools. Currently, Fanna serves on the board of directors for the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT).

Coleen’s rockin’ world started in small town rural Kansas. Her entire career has been in the death care industry. The death of her dog, Mico, was a defining moment to transfer the learning from human loss into starting the nation’s first stand-alone pet funeral home.   As an advocate and influencer for respectful and dignified pet loss services, her passion for all things pets is felt by her audiences, as well as through her readers. Her book Pet Parents: A Journey Through Unconditional Love and Grief is a sought-after guidebook for pet parents and animal care professionals. Coleen resides in Southlake, Texas, and is a founder and past co-chair of the Pet Loss Professionals Alliance and the current Executive Director and past president of the International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care.


Meghann is the marketing and communications coordinator for Pet Sitters International (PSI), where she frequently writes for The PSI Blog and PSI’s member magazine, Pet Sitter’s World, and hosts PSI webinars. Prior to her career in the pet industry, Meghann worked in award-winning newsrooms as a reporter and editor. She received her bachelor’s degree in communication from Salem College.


44 years ago, Meg, founder and owner of Black Wing Farms, was using flower essences for the treatment of alcoholic teens. Then she had a revelation in the aftermath of a horrible horseback riding accident when the horse's owner used flower essences on Meg and her horse to great affect. Since that time 25 years ago, Meg has created a wide range of products to help with the mental, physical, and emotional needs of animals... 24 species so far and counting! During the Southern California wildfires of 2003 her products helped to calm and stabilize traumatized pets and farm animals who were lost, injured, or abandoned during the fast moving blazes. Since then the products of BlackWing Farms have been requested by various distributors including Jeffers Pet Catalog, as well as the animal rescue organizations, Best Friends Animal Society, ASPCA in NYC, Animal Farm Foundation, the Humane Society of the US, The Gentle Barn in their rescues and longterm care of slaughterhouse animals.

Heidi is an animal law attorney who practices in Alexandria, Virginia. She has practiced law since 2000, when she began her legal career as a public defender in Alexandria. In 2006, Heidi became a civil litigator with a firm in Arlington, Virginia. In 2013, she started the Law Office of Heidi Meinzer, PLLC to focus her practice on animal law. Heidi serves on multiple boards, including for the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, and as the Vice President of the Virginia Federation of Humane Societies and the President of Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, Inc. In addition to practicing law, Heidi trains dogs and is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KSA) and a Certified Nose Work
Instructor (CNWI).

Casey is the educational programs and certification manager at Pet Sitters International (PSI). She has been involved in the professional pet sitting industry for 7 years and in that time, she has overseen PSI’s federally trademarked certification and its multitude of educational offerings. She received her bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Philosophy at Salem College. She is proud pet mom to a magnificent mutt named Annika and a friendly feline named Yuna.

Mark left a corporate customer service management role in the fall of 2008 to live the dream of working with animals. In 2009 that dream became reality when Mark opened a dog training, day care and boarding facility in Rochester, New York. Mark conducts several levels of training classes in a group class setting or private in- home sessions. Mark expanded his business focus on offering services to local shelters and rescue organizations to assist potential adoptions. His motto: “Always keep your eyes open to new opportunities because they may be right before you.” Continuing education has always been important for Mark to keep up-to-date on training, behavior, and clinical studies. He has attended seminars at Service Dogs, Inc., Alfred University and Cornell University. As part of Mark’s training toolbox, he uses massage, essential oils and TAGteach. He is an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen evaluator, published author in two local pet publications and sponsors a pet corner for an online publication. His business has received Angie’s List Super Service Award four years in a row. Mark currently serves on the Board of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers.

Khara Schuetzner is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and graduate of the Anti-Cruelty Society’s School of Dog Training. An American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, Khara is also certified in Pet First Aid and CPR, and earned her Nose Work Instructor certification from the National Canine Association of Scent Work. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Oklahoma, and a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from National Louis University. Khara has worked with animals for more than 20 years, and has over 10,000 hours of dog training and animal care experience as a volunteer shelter worker, foster dog parent, and behavioral consultant. She is a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT),  a member of the Animal Behavior Society, and a supporting member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. She is a member of North American Police Working Dogs and National Association (NAPWDA) and National Network of Canine Detection Services. Currently, Khara is Chair on the APDT Board.

Megan has over 10 years as a professional dog trainer and education is the core of her business. She has recognized that there is a strong need for regulation in the pet care industry and has set the standard for dog training and daycare in Calgary through dogma. She provides education through her business, free online resources to dog owners and trainers and through speaking engagements. An active volunteer, Megan is the Past Chair of the Board for the Association of Professional Dog Trainers.. She is the founder and President of The Guinniss Foundation, which is an organization named after dogma’s canine co-founder to help terminally ill pets. Megan has also launched www.everydoghasitsdayblog.com to create a community of support and sharing for entrepreneurs. She believes life is too short to not do what we love, so strives to inspire and encourage others to follow their dreams.Megan Stanley became one of the first four trainers in Canada to earn the Certified Behavior Consultant Canine, Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA). It’s her passion, guidance, and on-going education that keeps dogma at the top of the game, using only humane training practices and the latest scientific knowledge.

Beth has worked in the pet-care industry for more than 15 years and is the president of Pet Sitters International (PSI). Beth is also the editor of Pet Sitter’s World and Pet Owner’s World magazines and the author of The Professional Pet Sitter’s Startup Guide. She is an award-winning writer and frequent contributor to various pet-related publications and has also spoken at industry conferences such as Barkworld Expo, CWA Annual Conference and Pet Sitter World. Beth received her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as certifications in compassion fatigue studies through Divine Mercy University and Regent University. 

Joe started in the pet industry as a 13-year-old bather/brusher in a small grooming shop.  After a few years, Joe sought employment at an exciting, growing, and progressive pet resort, which would be the start of a fantastic journey that has now spanned over 32 years.  As Vice President of one of the World’s most prestigious Pet Resorts for nearly 20 years, Joe was responsible for leading over 200 staff members and 15 Managers.  His direction of six facilities, which included Pet Resorts, Grooming Spas, Training Academies, Grooming Instruction Programs, lead to the establishment of a franchise model and a business that pet facility owners and managers from all over the World sought out for inspiration. Joe has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and was a Professor and Senior Lecturer of Graduate and Undergraduate Business Administration courses at a private University in St. Louis.In early 2018, Joe joined the team at Melissa Verplank Enterprises, home to multiple pet professional development solutions such as Learn2GroomDogs.com, Paragon School of Pet Grooming, White Dog Enterprises, and Whiskers Pet Resort and Spa as their new VP of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development.  He is also the host of the “Hey Joe!” podcast, created specifically for Pet Professionals.
