The Training/Daycare Partnership

the word partnership being built by ants

I’m a dog trainer who opened a dog daycare. I loved merging my two services together. In hindsight, I realized one of the advantages I had was that I always had one or two dog trainers who also worked in the daycare. I didn’t realize how much this benefitted me until I started consulting and seeing businesses that lacked that partnership.

Now, The Dog Gurus, always recommend trying to build a strong partnership between dog training and dog daycare. Both areas require a certain skill set that are independent of one another, but there can be great synergy for your business when the two departments work together. Here are a few clips from a seminar Susan and I have done on this subject. Use this to engage your staff in thinking about how you can partner together with a dog trainer! And for more information on how you might get started in the dog training field (or how you might encourage one of your own employees to get started) check out the resources in this month’s bonus download: How to Get Started as a Dog Trainer.
