Engage Your Staff and Keep them Learning

All month we’ve been helping you to get the most out of your membership at The Dog Gurus.  We’ve created a Knowledge and Skills Training Checklist you can use with new staff members. But what about your current staff?  How do you keep them engaged?

Well one idea we would recommend is to create a monthly “Lunch and Learn” period when you can spend a few minutes allowing staff f to have a discussion about a specific topic related to their job.  If you have multiple shifts you might have to have a couple Lunch and Learn periods each month.
The idea behind the Lunch and Learn is to take some time over lunch to discuss a specific subject. For instance, this month you might talk about ways to use the membership site. Or maybe you just plan to log onto the site and review the latest blog post or watch a video together.  It doesn’t have to be a long discussion but these meetings can be great opportunities to learn from one another and create more friendships among the staff.
