SuperZoo Spotlights – Great Toys!
The best thing about SuperZoo is it’s HUGE! The worst thing about SuperZoo is it’s HUGE. There is so much to see. The Dog Gurus spent a few days in Las Vegas speaking and shopping at SuperZoo. If you’ve never been there, it’s one of the largest retail tradeshows for pets and if you sell any retail products (or want to sell them), Superzoo is the place to be! You can stock up on your favorite products at super low prices. You’ll also get an advance look at some new items you may not have seen before.
Here is a list of a few of Robin and Susan’s toy picks from this year.
TOYS
West Paw Design – This Montana based company has a wide range of products. But for daycares we’d recommend looking at their interactive play and tough chew toys. They are bright, colorful, and come in a wide range of fun shapes. For people, West Paw is also a founding member of the Pet Industry Sustainability Coalition with a commitment to making environmentally friendly pet toys. These products would be good for use in your facility and for retail sales.
HurriK9 – This is another fun toy to use for individual or small group play. Get your clients excited to have their dog play with this launching fetch toy. We liked the HurriK9 because it was bright, colorful and fun… a great way to attract new clients. But this isn’t a daycare toy. We’d only use it in one on one play or small group play while the dogs are supervised (which is easy since it requires a human to launch the flying ring.) This product would be good for use in your facility.
Tether Tug – This is a unique interactive toy that will keep those tug-obsessed dogs happy. The Tether tug is stuck in the ground on a long pole with a tug attached to it and allows dogs to pull to their hearts content. This is another product that you can use for individual or small group play. I would recommend using it under supervision though! This product would be good for use in your facility.
