The Key Marketing Strategy You Can’t Ignore
Marketing is a word we hear all the time. We sometimes equate it with other words such as publicity, advertising, promotion, or sales. I want to equate it to a different word that has helped me do a better job of marketing….that word is relationships.
When you are in a service-based business such as the pet service industry, virtually everything comes down to relationships. Sure people love the way your lobby looks, the colors you use on the walls, the look and feel of your logo, and lots of other things about your building. But if you don’t have a good relationship with your clients (and I mean the human ones in addition to the canine ones), everything else is useless.
So all your marketing needs to keep in mind the goal of building a relationship with your clients. As with any relationship these guidelines will help:
- Be intentional about it
- Know what your clients want and give it to them
- Share helpful information…don’t just always ask for something
- Be friendly and fun…make your clients smile
We all know people who energize us and people who drain us. Marketing is the same way. You’ll see some things on your Facebook feed and think “UGH…not them again” and you’ll see other things and gravitate to it because it makes you laugh, smile, or educates you in some way. Provide marketing that does the latter.
Social media is a great way to build relationships with your clients. Our next post will focus on 3 marketing tools that will save you time in the social media world.
