How many of your job descriptions list good or excellent communication skills as a requirement? Most of us seek to work with people that communicate well, but in reality how is this working out?

It does not take long reviewing posts in industry discussion groups or surveying business owners on their frustrations to find a reference to staff drama or a vent about a challenging client interaction. The common thread to these frustrations is most frequently a communication failure that escalates.

Since communication is truly the root of so many problems and frustrations in your business The Dog Gurus are focused this month on refreshing key skills, client communication tips and avoiding conflicts. We’re providing tools you can use to train your staff including a skill refresher guide, communication observation worksheet and role-play scenarios.

We want input on your most challenging communication scenarios as we will select from your ideas and create a fun and instructional role-play video. Robin and Susan have invited Lori Davis, our customer service guru, to critique our dialog. Lori will point out good moments and constructive feedback on how we could have communicated better.
