Litter Box Essentials

Objective: Refresh your team’s skills surrounding litter box care and maintenance.

Content: Cat care may be a less familiar part of your pet care business if you don’t regularly board felines. This session will provide your staff with the knowledge and techniques needed to maintain clean, odor-free, and cat-friendly litter boxes, ensuring a more comfortable environment and positive experience for cats in your care. An unhygienic litter box can lead to unpleasant smells that permeate your establishment and discourage cats from utilizing their box. After the training, your team will have the opportunity to complete a “micro quiz” to test their knowledge.

Prior to Lunch & Learn Session:

• In preparation for leading the group discussion, the leader should review the supporting document section to determine how the information will be presented.

• Print the “Litter Box Essentials” document for each member of your team.

• Print the “Micro Quiz” (included below) for each team member.

• Fold each “Micro Quiz” in half or cut on the line to hide the answer key.
