Managing Emotional Distress in Pets

Objective: Increase the knowledge of the team on the topic of separation anxiety and other types of emotional distress seen in pets.

Content: Most pets are likely to experience a certain amount of distress when away from their owners. Mild distress is very typical, even in pets that enjoy being in the care of your team. It is important to be able to identify when that distress may require additional care or even the intervention of a veterinarian. This activity will focus on educating the team on how to identify significant distress in pets and the steps that need to be taken to ensure the pet is comfortable and safe.
