Handling Difficult Dogs: Setting Boundaries for Success

Objective: Learn to proactively manage behavioral problems at your daycare facility by establishing clear boundaries and empowering your staff.

Content: Setting boundaries for unacceptable behaviors at your facility can protect your staff and the dogs in your care. This Lunch and Learn will familiarize your team with potentially problematic behaviors and identify which behaviors are acceptable, manageable, and unacceptable for your facility. This training will also discuss creating a behavioral modification plan and how to terminate a client’s services compassionately and professionally.

Prior to Lunch & Learn Session:

• In preparation for leading the group discussion, the leader should review the supporting document section to determine how the information will be presented.

• Gather any relevant documentation regarding behavioral incidents or client terminations.
