Objective: Review emergency protocols with your team and practice safety drills for emergency scenarios.

Content: Emergency response and team readiness are vital for ensuring the safety of your staff, clients, and pets. This Lunch and Learn will discuss the importance of emergency preparedness and walk you through developing emergency safety plans for several scenarios. Once you’ve developed and/or located your emergency protocols, your team will practice the established safety drills covering various emergency scenarios, including how to break up a dog fight, what to do when experiencing a power outage, and how to evacuate the facility.

Prior to Lunch & Learn Session:

• In preparation for leading the group discussion, the leader should review the supporting document section to determine how the information will be presented.

• Gather any documentation for safety protocols that your facility currently has in place.

• Gather supplies for your drills. Consider using stuffed animals if you plan to do a dog fight drill.
